Natural
Stone Industry Training Group
The NSITG aim is to be the main
source of information about careers, training, development and skills in
the natural stone industry. It will ensure that high standards are set
and maintained. It covers all aspects of the natural stone industry from
quarrying, fixing, design, masonry, restoration, conservation and contracting.
It actively promotes training in all these areas to ensure a fully trained
workforce for the future.
The NSITG, which operates on behalf
of Stone Federation members and non-members has five key aims.
* Identification
of training needs where none currently exist
* Recruitment
of new entrants into the industry
* Promotion of
on site assessment and training
* Achievement
of a registered trained workforce
* Promotion of
health and safety.
It is sponsored by ConstructionSkills
and is administered by the Stone Federation, the industry trade association
which is the leading authority in the natural stone industry. It
is open to both members and non members of the Stone Federation.
